Lisa Mullarkey, Author Presentation

best website stats

I had the opportunity to watch Lisa Mullarkey in action at a presentation for 5th graders at my school. Right from the get-go, Lisa captivated the 108 students with her delivery and unique style. She used various props and powerpoint to explain her evolution on the way to becoming a children’s author, to demonstrate her story about life’s challenges, and to share the lessons she’s learned about life, commitment, and the empowerment that comes from rejection.

This presentation was packed with powerful messages centering on identifying your dream, following your dream, and refusing to surrender to obstacles and pitfalls along the way. Lisa uses lots of humor and great expression and she knows exactly how to target her delivery to the audience.  Students were spellbound during the performance. She referenced her website and kids had opportunities to hear about some of the information they had read previous to her visit.

Lisa has the uncanny ability to make the most out of every event in life, such as using the shower as her thinking corner. After reading a short poem she wrote to her parents, she realized the impact of words on her audience when they ultimately burst into tears.  If her poem could bring tears to her parents’ eyes, could she make them laugh, too? The challenge was on and her writing career started that day!

The most unforgettable part of Lisa Mullarkey’s author visit was her genius in addressing her audience in a way that kids would understand and relate, the humor throughout her presentation, and the excitement and energy she brings to the room as all eyes are riveted on her.  Hats off to a phenomenal speaker who experiences to the fullest all things in life, writes from the heart, and delivers with gusto. We have already booked her for next year to come back to our school!

I highly recommend a visit from Lisa Mullarkey…for a notable presentation, an inspiring story, and a shot of adrenaline in the arm. This was one of the best hours we could have given our students before sending them off to middle school!
