Dear Lisa,
Thank you for your recent visit to Nixon School. Your presentations were very well received by students, teachers and administration.
The energy and enthusiasm that you brought to the children of Nixon School was amazing! Your love for reading and the world of children’s literature was not only clearly evident, but also contagious. Your engaging presentation continually brought the children back to the concept that literature often times has a personal connection for the individual writing it, as well as the individual reading it.
Through a host of facts (which the children enjoyed discovering at your website prior to your visit), the students of Nixon School were able to make a “connection” with you from the word “Go!” Comments that began with “Did you know that she…” could be heard as the children entered the room where you was presenting. This background knowledge built an excitement for questions and prompts posed by you.
It was clear throughout your presentation that you possess a strong knowledge of how children learn and practices that can be used to make that learning process effective. You managed your audience wonderfully and kept the time spent with the children engaging and interactive.
Teachers from Nixon School commented…
“We were impressed at how well Lisa captivated the audience of second graders. The kids were really interested in what she had to say and her enthusiasm really helped, too!”
“I felt that her presentation was excellent! Her presentation was grade level appropriate, which allowed the students to learn a lot.”
“Lisa was so responsive to the children.”
“I felt that Lisa was totally on the students’ wave length. Her material was varied for the different ages and grades of students.”
“You can tell that she is a teacher by the way she effectively managed her audience.”
Thank you again for sharing your energy and love of reading with Nixon School.
Sincerely,
Danielle Lynch Roxbury Public Schools Supervisor of Humanities, PreK-5
